GLOBAL MARKETS

US Markets

The US markets plunged on friday after companies like Google ane Caterpiller announced below expectation numbers, Both Dow and Nasdaq were down more than 1 percent.

Dow Jones closed at 13851.08 down 149.33 points or 1.07 percent.
Nasdaq Composite closed at 2687.60 up 32.44 points or 1.19 percent .

Europian Markets

The Europian markets also shed more than a percent.

FTSE (UK) closed at 6585.20 down 55.00 points or 0.83%. .
DAX (Germany) closed at 7874.85 down 116.36 points or 1.46%
CAC (France) closed at 5957.16 down 108.34 points or 1.79%.

Asian Markets

The Asian markets ended in the green on Friday.

NIKKEI(JAPAN) closed at 18157.93 up 41.36 points.
HANG SENG (HONG KONG) closed at 23291.90 up 275.70 points.
KOSPI (SOUTH KOREA) closed at 1983.54 up 45.64 points.
STRAITS TIMES (SINGAPORE) closed at 3651.38 up 45.64 points.
Composite Index (CHINA) Closed at 4058.85 up 145.91 points.
SENSEX (INDIA) closed at 15565.55 up 15.42 points.
NIFTY (INDIA) closed at 4566.05 up 3.95 points.

Today’s Market outlook

The Global cues are weak today, the US markets closed in the red on friday and the Asian markets have opened in the red today morning except China which is up 2.5 percent today. We expect a flat kind of opening and the markets will remain volatile during the day.

Stocks to watch

Hindustan Unilever Ltd.

The company is planning to buy back its shares up to a maximum of 25 percent, the stock was closed at Rs. 194 on friday and the stock should move up on the buy back news. Buy it early in the morning for some 10 percent gain in a short span of time.
