Stock Market Tips for 27th April 2007

GLOBAL MARKETS

US Markets

The US markets were almost flat with Dow and Nasdaq posting minor gains.

Dow Jones closed at 13105.50 up 15.61 points or 0.12 percent
Nasdaq Composite closed at 2554.46 up 06.57 points or 0.26 percent.

Europian Markets

The Europian Markets also closed flat on mixed quaterly numbers announced by the corporates.

FTSE (UK) closed at 6469.40 up 07.50 points or 0.12%
DAX (Germany) closed at 7387.02 up 43.94 points or 0.60%
CAC (France) closed at 5944.44 down 2.89 points or 0.05%

Asian Markets

The Asian markets after begining positive closed in the red.

NIKKEI (JAPAN) closed at 17362.92 down 66.25 points or 0.38%
HENG SENG (HONG KONG) closed at 20667.29.
KOSPI (SOUTH KOREA) closed at 1541.22 down 11.91 points or 0.77%
STRAITS TIMES (SINGAPORE) closed at 3385.05 down 21.84 points or 0.64%
SENSEX (INDIA) closed at 14228.88 up 11.11 points or 0.08%
NIFTY (INDIA) closed at 4177.85 up 10.55 points or 0.25%
BSE MIDCAP (INDIA) closed at 5788.03 down 17.30 points or 0.30%
BSE SMALLCAP (INDIA) closed at 7171.33 down 57.69 points or 0.82%

Today’s Market outlook

US and Europe closed flat yesterday and Asia has also opened in the red with Nikkei down about 100 points, Kospi down about 13 points and Straits Times down about 24 points. Yesterday, Reliance Industries came out with good set of numbers leaving behind the street expectations.
Today the markets are expected to remain in the state of consolidation and some profit booking may be seen.
